The Cotton Throne is a 40cm handwoven macramé cat hammock made from natural cotton rope. Suspended from a suitable load-bearing ceiling point, beam or sturdy stand, it creates an elevated indoor resting place for cats that enjoy lounging above floor level and observing the room.
A secure metal S-hook is included, while the cushion shown in some images is not included. The hammock is described as suitable for cats up to approximately 8kg, but safe use also depends on the fixing point, installation method and condition of the rope. Never suspend it from a decorative hook or uncertain ceiling fitting.
Installation and care
Have the support point assessed and install the hammock according to the supplied instructions. Test it gradually with weight before allowing the cat to enter. Keep it away from windows, stairs, heaters and hard objects beneath a possible fall. Inspect the cotton rope, knots and hook regularly and remove the hammock if fibres fray or the structure stretches. Cats that chew and swallow rope require close supervision.
